why?
I poked fun at the whole social networking/blogging craze despite the fact my sisters, brother in law and niece blog. I didn’t get it until now.
It started with a co-worker subtly mentioning I was hypocrite for starting a branded content company yet not participating in the culture. Point well taken. I dove in. First on Facebook. Soon I graduated to Twitter. I followed people. Posted my status multiple times a day. I encouraged others to particpate. I began to understand the power of online networking. As my knowledge grew the more limiting 140 characters became.
I have always considered myself somewhat out spoken. I’ll freely express my thoughts and opinions with the utmost candor to anyone who will listen. I've been known to jump on my soapbox, more so recently, as I have seen fundamental changes happen within our industry. Some changes for the better and many for the worse. My hope is that someone…anyone, particularly members of the advertising production and content community along with small business owners in creative fields will read and comment on my postings. Hopefully, an open and honest exchange and heated debate can take place.
This is the why. Please stay tuned...
